Did asians evolve from a different lineage of human species?

hi! i'm 24 year old korean american girl. Not too long ago, I saw this this documentary video series from BBC about Humans populating the world. this one particular episode is about how humans who migrated out of africa evolved into various asian races we have today (such as koreans like myself). But what's interesting is that it talks about the possibility that asians may not have descended from homo sapians like everyone else and that they could have descended from homo erectus. is this true? I'm korean so if it is, am i still human?
