Why do many martial arts schools/dojos do not teach nunchaku?

Many do, but they are not an easy weapon to learn. They are typically not taught until an advanced level. The proper way to use Nunchaku is not what you see in movies. VERY few people can actually use them properly without doing as much damage to themselves as they do to their opponent. I am not one of them, cannot stand that weapon.
